Herman Lancaster Brown was a prominent Auburn citizen of the early 20th century. He was the president of the Auburn School Board in the mid 1920s. He was also a very successful business man, working with his father-in-law, John Wimer, marketing potatoes and onions. He and his wife Marguerite, raised five children: Bernard Wimer, Donald B. Kathryne Lucile, Virginia and Donald. Herman is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn next to his wife in the cemetery plot of the Jesse B. Garns family next to his daughter Kathyrn Garns who married Arno Garns, the son of Jesse Garns.
