Elizabeth Alice Egington Bennett, daughter of Thomas Egington and Johanna Elwall Egington.Born 1604 Weymouth, Dorset, England, died 1674 Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts, age 69 or 70 years Alice Elizabeth Egington was born Bet. 1584 - 1609 in England, and died Bet. 1633 - 1698, in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts, a town where she and her husband Edward Bennett were founding settlers. She was the mother of many known children, possibly as many as ten. Elizabeth Egington and Edward Bennett were married October 27, 1622, in Sedgley, Staffordshire, England [1] They had four children in England before sailing on the ship "James" from Weymouth, Malcombe-Regis Dorset, England to Weymouth Massachusetts in 1636. There, Edward took up as he was entitled to thirty-six acres of public land. He was made a freeman in 1636. After a residence there for seven years, Edward became an original proprietor in the company that founded Rehoboth, to which place he removed in 1643 with a certain Rev. Newman. Edward died at Rehoboth in 1645, an original "proprietorwealthy," and was buried in Proprietor's cemetery. Married/ Related to: Child: 1.
