Peter Elmore (ACCB), son of Peter Elmore (ACC), was born in New Kent County. Virginia. His birth was recorded in the Register of St. Peter’s Parish in the following manner:*[1]

"Peter Son of Peter Elmore born October the 9th 1726"

Peter was only 12 years old when his father died and apparently his uncle William Elmore (ACB) became his surrogate father. When the family moved to adjoining Henrico County about the year 1730, Peter was part of the family that sought those new environs. About 1745 William and Peter moved to neighboring Hanover County; this was also about the time his brothers John Elmore (ACCA, Athanasius Elmore (ACCC) and James Elmore (ACCD) moved to Lunenburg Co., Va.
The name of the wife of Peter is not known, however, their children included:*[2]

Thomas Elmore (ACCBA), a son born circa 1762; more later.
William Elmore (ACCBB), a son born circa 1752; more later.
Peter Elmore (ACCBC), a son born circa 1754; more later.
Daniel Elmore (ACCBD), a son born 1756; more later.
Elizabeth Elmore (ACCBE), a daughter born October 1759; more later.

In 1763 when the tithe list of Hanover Co., Va. was made. Peter was listed as having 100 acres of land; his uncle William (ACB) was listed as having 106 acres.*[3]

When the land processions for St. Paul’s Parish was made in 1771, Peter was listed as one of the land owners in precinct No. 20. This land procession states in part:*[4]

“…John Pulliams Orphans, Isaac Perrin, Henry Perrin, James Byarss, Dudley Glass, Henry Hix, Nathaniel Bow, Charles Davis, Nathaniel Davis, Supry Davis, Peter Elmore, Edward England and William England…”

When the colonies declared their independence from mother England, Peter was one of those who fought for independence. Patsey Elmore, the widow of son Thomas Elmore (ACCBA) and himself a veteran of that war, applied for a widow’s pension in 1844. Included in her application was a statement by her sister-in—law Elizabeth (Elmore) Perrin which claimed:*[5]

“…Her father Peter Elmore enlisted for three years under Capt William Meredith, and after serving two years returned home. and her brother Thomas Elmore took his place, and served out the remaining one year in his father’s place as his substitute. That she knows to her own knowledge that her brother Thomas Elmore was in the Revolutionary army full two years. and she thinks he served at least three years. - That her brother William Elmore was also in the Revolutionary Army, & that her brother Peter died in the army, as did her brother Daniel, also - Her brother Thomas Elmore was dressed differently from the other soldiers when he returned home, and she thinks he held some commission or appointment above the other soldiers.”

No additional information identified with Peter Elmore (ACCB) has been brought forward.*[6]
